Calculation

1. Percentage of marks obtained = Marks Obtained / Full Marks x 100

(Theory of Practical + Sessional)
(For B.Ed. each is of 100 marks)

2. Grade Point (10 point scale) = Marks of each paper out of 100 / 10

3. Credit Point = Classes attended / Classes delivered x 5

4. Honour Point = Grade Point (Gi) x Credit Point (Ci)

(100% classes attended means ‘5’ credit for a paper of 100 marks)

5. Grade Point Average (GPA in each semester) = Summation of GiCi / Total Actual Credits for a semester

For B.Ed. 1st or 2nd semester GPA = Total of GiCi / Total credit earned

N.B.

a) If a student gets ‘F’ grade in any paper i.e. below pass mark then GPA shall not be calculated until and unless the student gets pass marks in that paper.

b) Grace marks 1% i.e., 1-5 whenever required to pass in a paper to be awarded to not more than three papers to obtain pass marks in the semester.

c) If a candidate fails in sessional (i.e obtains less than 10 marks out of 25) or obtains credit below 3.0 then the candidate shall not be eligible for appearing at theory or practical papers. In this case the Grade Point and Honour Point shall not be calculated and shown.

d) When a candidate obtains qualifying Grade Point and Credit Point but gets Grade Point Average (GPA) below 4.0 then the candidate shall be declared ‘Fail’ and the candidate shall have to continue the classes and appear the semester examination as a whole again.
